Rotor International is a good evidence for how successfully one can introduce an innovative product into the European airplane market: The since the middle of 2007 existing company sells two coaxial light helicopter models, the two seater
RI30 and the three seater RI 600. |

The Rotor International logo should be striking and exhibit a technical impression. The logotype directly picks up the appearance of the rotating coaxial rotors. The second R of the bookmark was reflected - and thus an axial symmetric construction was attained which then again signifies the possible rotation around the vertical axis. Furthermore the reflected R cites the Cyrillic script and hence refers to the German-Russian cooperation of the firm. As corporate typeface the Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk was chosen. This script with its ageless and technical character is available in many different cuts, among other things also in Cyrillic and is therefore very flexibly applicable. In the bookmark the font cut „bold“ was combinded with the light-cut. Here we have prepared a detailed description of the work process of the logo development. |
Due to the fact that when the brochures were prepared the RI 600 was yet flightless, pictures of the antetype as basis for a photomontage were used. The picture concept focuses the helicopter and shows a scenery full of action. The dark thunderstorm sky increases the dramatic aspect as well as the graphic quality of the picture composition. |
